NOTICE OF IMPENDING VACANCIES AND SOLICITATION FOR APPLICANTS

The Klickitat Citizens Review Committee has two (2) impending vacancies for individuals with environmental interests as relate to salmonid recovery.

Klickitat County is the lead entity for salmon habitat recovery efforts in Water Resource Inventory Areas 29b, 30, and 31 under Chapter 77.85 RCW.  Klickitat County established the Klickitat Citizens Review Committee in 1999 to fulfill functions as prescribed in 77.85 RCW.

The role of the Klickitat Citizens Review Committee is to support salmonid recovery by identifying credible and fundable salmon habitat protection and enhancement projects. The Committee provides citizen-based evaluations of proposed salmon habitat projects and recommends projects for grant funding. The Committee is comprised of up to twelve (12) appointed members representing diverse community interests.

These committee seats are voluntary and unpaid. Committee members serve three-year terms. The Committee meets up to once per month, with regularly scheduled meeting times on the third Thursday of each month at 7 pm. The committee currently meets monthly from February to June and as-needed from July to January.

Aspects of this project include: Site grading, excavation, hauling, and storage and/or disposal of excavated asphalt and existing base materials, placement of new base aggregates, HMAC resurfacing, restriping, pavement markings, signage, lighting improvements, ADA improvements, construction of new curbs, gutters and sidewalks, revisions of existing traffic flow, utility adjustments, conduits, landscaping area preparation, and all other required aspects of the project shown in the plans.

The role of the Klickitat Technical Committee (TC) is to provide technical advice to the Klickitat Citizens Review Committee on the identification, sequencing and prioritization of projects for salmonid recovery and the evaluation of the technical merits of candidate projects submitted to the Klickitat Citizens Review Committee. Therefore, the TC meets during the winter, spring, and summer months, with their regular meeting on the first Thursday of each month, unless otherwise noted. 

This meeting will be held on June 10, 2022. Other 2022 meeting dates will be announced in future notices.

KLICKITAT COUNTY MITIGATED DETERMINATION OF NON-SIGNIFICANCE

Notice is hereby given that Klickitat County issued a Mitigated Determination of Non-significance (MDNS) on May 26, 2022 under SEPA Rules (Chapter 197-11 WAC) and the Klickitat County Environmental Ordinance Number 121084, as amended, for the following proposals:

SEPA2022-13. Applicant: Victor & Lucinda Blandine.  A Short Plat application requesting to subdivide approximately 37.20 acres into 3 lots. The proposed short plat is located in E2NESW; TL 5 in SW LY W of center of Garrison Rd.; Section 19, T5N, R15E, W.M. Klickitat County, WA (Goldendale vicinity) on tax parcel 05-15-1900-0010/00.

After review of the completed environmental checklists and other information on file the Klickitat County Responsible Official has determined that this proposal will not have probable significant adverse impacts on the environment. Copies of the MDNS are available at the Klickitat County Planning Department during normal business hours.
